Parish Retreats

Imaginative prayer is an incredibly powerful practice that enables parishioners to enter more deeply into the Word of God.

Retreats can be ran for groups of up to 30 participants as either half or full day retreats. The retreats begin by introducing the participants to imaginative prayer as a communal practice, similar to a guided scriptural meditation. Once familiar with the communal practice, participants will be introduced to resources created to support them in using the practice independently, as part of their individual prayer lives.

"I found this experience to be the perfect way to meaningfully take some time away from the "busyness" of my life and reconnect with my spirituality and with my God. Carlie lead us through the 4 phases of Imaginative Prayer focusing on scripture passages around The Annunciation, The Visitation, The Birth of Jesus and The Visitation of the Shepherds. As familiar as these passages are to me, the experience of Imaginative Prayer gave me a fresh perspective and clarity. I truly felt as though the Holy Spirit was guiding me and I left at the end of the day with a renewed spirit of faith and peace. What a powerful way to prepare for Christmas!"

Reviews by Parishioners

"What a wonderful way to engage in a different form of deep prayer.  Not only did I learn a new prayer skill, I was enlightened as to the historical context each Biblical passage was written for.  Having this knowledge, allowed me to enter the passages at a much deeper level.  Carlie’s knowledge of the Biblical contexts, her gentle approach and passion for this form of prayer was infectious.  I have no doubt, not only does this form of prayer deepen your personal relationship with the Lord, it also transcends all generations and levels of theology."
